100-mile Challenge: Staff regain initiative after day three
May 7, 2020

Staff have regained their commanding advantage after day three of Rydal Penrhos’ 100-mile Health and Wellbeing challenge.

The challenge is to collectively complete 100 miles of exercise a week. This will be logged by teacher Sean Kitchen and the first year group to reach the target, wins!

Each pupil taking part is to record their mileage on whatever health app they choose during allocated exercise.

Staff put in a superb effort on their third official day and now find themselves on 82.69 miles, just 17.31 away from reaching their target.

Year 13 remain in second on 42.22 miles after failing to log anything for their third day. A fine effort from Year 7 now finds them in third position and close behind the Upper Sixth Form group on 31.25 miles.

Year 8 are currently in fourth position with 27.15 miles registered, and Year 10 are now on the board after 22.55 miles from the day.

Rounding off the standings are Year 12 (14.6 miles) and Year 9 (4.5 miles), with Year 11 still not registering any mileage.

The challenge was organised by Health and Wellbeing faculty staff and drew inspiration from Colonel Tom Moore’s incredible fundraising efforts for the National Health Service.
