Year 9 are setting the pace after day four of Rydal Penrhos’ 100-mile Health and Wellbeing challenge.
The challenge is to collectively complete 100 miles of exercise a week. This will be logged by teacher Sean Kitchen and the first year group to reach the target, wins!
Each pupil taking part is to record their mileage on whatever health app they choose during allocated exercise.
Year 9 produced a fine effort on day four and are now within touching distance of their target, with their current standing set at 87.93 miles.
This puts them just 12.07 miles away from becoming the first year group to reach the milestone. Year 13 are close behind on 61.23 miles, and Year 7 continue to defy their age with exceptional commitment to record 54.79 miles so far.
There is not much separating Years 12 and 8 in the standings, with the latter enjoying a 0.2-mile advantage over their Sixth Form schoolmates.
Year 10 remain on 22.55 miles, with Year 11 still on zero after not registering any exercise to date.
Staff are set to command a higher target in future weeks after reaching 150 miles in the five days so far.
Don’t forget to log your times and distances with Mr Kitchen via email at STKitchen@rydalpenrhos.com over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
