We believe that Rydal Penrhos is an outstanding school, delivering an exciting educational experience for our pupils. Although we are in a solid financial position, we cannot rely on fee income alone to ensure that we continue to provide the best facilities and opportunities for our children, and unlike some independent schools we do not have a large endowment that we can call upon.
There is a tradition of philanthropy at Rydal Penrhos, and historically both Rydal School and Penrhos College have benefited from gifts and legacies received over the years. Facilities such as the Memorial Hall, swimming pool, music rooms, D.T workshops and the Ferguson Centre exist purely because of the generosity of donors.
Those who attended the Penrhos College site will remember the Anglesey Wing, with classrooms, libraries and the art room, which, as well as the swimming pool, were built as a result of gifts received through fundraising appeals.
In addition to providing facilities, the generosity of others has enabled Penrhos College, Rydal School, and now Rydal Penrhos to provide financial assistance to a huge number of families over the years, who would have otherwise been unable to afford a Rydal Penrhos education for their children. For some of those children the generosity of those who have gone before them has, quite simply, been life changing.
We believe that Rydal Penrhos is a special place. We believe in our strong foundations and values. We believe in realising the unique potential of each and every child. We believe that, together, we can make a difference.
We are looking for former pupils of Rydal School, Penrhos College or Rydal Penrhos who would like to become part of our mentoring scheme.
