GCSE candidates demonstrate prowess at Drama Showcase
November 4, 2019

Some of Rydal Penrhos’ most talented performing artists showcased their skills at a special event recently.

The Year 11 GCSE candidates held a Drama Showcase prior to the half-term break at the Rick Maple Studio, which was the perfect chance to show what they have been preparing and working exceptionally hard on throughout their two-year module.

It proved to be another fantastic demonstration of their ability to perform under pressure in front of friends, family members and teaching staff, with each performance drawing widespread plaudits from those in attendance.

Each pupil will now look to develop their respective skills throughout the remainder of the autumn term in the lead-up to their examination assessments, which form a large portion of their overall grade next summer.

Rydal Penrhos has enjoyed a wealth of examination success within the Arts in recent years, with a large number of pupils going on to study Drama, Music or Art and Design at further education establishments across the country.

Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “Each Year 11 pupil that performed at the Drama Showcase deserves a tremendous amount of credit, and this experience will undoubtedly stand them in good stead ahead of a challenging few months leading up to examinations.

“They are all getting considerable support and guidance from our exceptional staff team, who strive on a daily basis to ensure our pupils reach their long and short-term goals.”
