An aspiring Preparatory School martial artist is now just one level away from a prestigious landmark after another grading success.

Lucy Ranales-Griffiths, a Year 6 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has been studying the discipline of Karate for a number of years at John Lynn’s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Colwyn Bay, and she successfully came through her Presho Dan Level 3 assessment with flying colours to add to her growing list of accolades.

This latest triumph in front of adjudicators means that Lucy is one stage away from achieving her Black Belt, which would represent a significant achievement for the pupil given her tender age.

She has already begun working towards this distinction during weekly sessions at the facility, with the multi-talented individual also achieving a considerable amount in areas such as Sailing during her time as a member of the Rydal Penrhos community.
