Rydal Penrhos Daily Notes: April 20

Day 21 – 15 pupils, 5 staff

Well, it was back to lessons with a whoop and jump of excitement this morning!

I exaggerate slightly… but the pupils did get very excited when they saw their class teacher and classmates online for the first live Prep School form lessons.

An amazingly quick intake of tech knowledge from even our youngest Reception class pupils saw them quickly learn how to use ‘conversations’, ‘files’ and ‘mute’!

They then went on to print out worksheets and complete their tasks for the day with only minimal help from the teachers in school today.

Their form teacher stayed online all day so the pupils drifted back and forth from classroom to IT room to ask individual questions and receive encouragement and direction.

The senior school pupils watched carefully for it will be their turn to start tomorrow and I know they wouldn’t want to be upstaged by a five-year-old!

It may have been day one of live lessons but the prep pupils now consider themselves experienced remote learners.

Let’s see how things develop with the senior school pupils tomorrow!
