Mrs Davies’ weekly blog: January 27
January 27, 2020

A very odd weather week with brilliant sunny moments followed by fog and mizzle.

Nevertheless, Rydal Penrhos pupils continue unhindered with their learning opportunities!

On Monday, our Pre-school older pupils visited Merton place care home to talk about their latest project.

This time they enthralled residents with space stories and proudly showed off their space models.

The next day Year 2 stayed with the science theme and travelled to Techniquest, an interactive centre belonging to Glyndwr University in Wrexham.

They had great fun making models and solving problems.

Our sporting fixture continued with the under 10/9 rugby team travelling to play five fixtures against much larger schools.

Mr McLeod was so proud of the team, they worked very hard and came away with three wins and two narrow defeats, well done everyone! They seemed very keen about tackling in the mud, I think a few washing machines had a battering later!

Our prefects are leading the Sports Relief fundraiser this year. They will be talking to pupils about it in assembly this week.

Pupils will be asked to pick a sportsperson from the past or present whom they really admire and do a project about them to bring to school on March 13. The projects will form an exhibition in the library

Our Prep School pupils would like to invite their grandparents to afternoon tea and invitations should be going home today (Monday). We will hold future events like this so there will be other opportunities to attend if grandparents aren’t able to attend this one.
