Mrs Roberts’ Pre-School blog: November 15
November 15, 2019

Pre-School head Louise Roberts returns with her weekly blog, bringing you a full rundown of the wealth of different activities throughout the department during another enormously busy few days for Rydal Penrhos’ youngest children.

The Gingerbread Man

This week the children listened to the story of the Gingerbread Man and discussed certain elements of the story, they re-told the story using puppets and masks.

The children worked as a group to make gingerbread men and help to weigh, count and compare amounts of the different ingredients used.

They played the gingerbread man journey game and record data from the story by making charts.

The children were encouraged to develop their gross motor skills by running fast and slow and jumping over obstacles and they will play ‘Gingerbread man tag’.

They were also able to make play dough gingerbread men shapes and created a large gingerbread man to decorate and produce a gingerbread man dance.

As usual, the children worked in small key groups for extra literacy and numeracy tasks and they also had Forest School, music and gym.
