Rydal Penrhos Pre-School head Louise Roberts returns with all the latest news and activities from another busy week at the department in her weekly blog.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
This week we used the stories of Goldilocks to discuss emotions.
They made porridge to observe changes that occur when it is cooked and used their senses for tasting.
The children acted out the story and sequenced events.
They created headbands, either bears or Goldilocks and made bear collage pictures.
The children found out more about size and sorted teddies according to their size and colour.
There were many other activities available to the children to enhance their learning throughout the week, which took place under exceptional guidance and support from the Pre-School staff team.
This included a weekly visit to Rydal Penrhos’ outstanding Forest School facility, a chance to exercise in gymnastics and boost early musical development.
As always, core learning remains of paramount importance to us here at the Pre-School, with small groups taking part in literacy and numeracy sessions throughout the week.
