Music Matters: Bella
March 5, 2020

This special feature centres on Rydal Penrhos’ incredible music department and the pupils that are thriving under the expert leadership of Pete Williams.

Bella Rutherford (Year 11)

Bella has spent their entirety of her education at Rydal Penrhos and has developed into an exceptional vocalist and musician.

The pupil arrived as a Reception class child back in 2007 and has thrived across all areas of school life. She has also demonstrated a natural ability to come alive on stage in front of an audience.

There have been so many highlights from Bella’s perspective, which included playing the lead role in the Dramatic Society production of Anne the Musical with aplomb.

She also shone playing various roles during last year’s incredible depiction of Les Miserables, and her outstanding singing ability came to the fore during RPS Showstoppers in 2018.

Her dedication to improving musically under the guidance of Rydal Penrhos’ dedicated staff has also brought with it some impressive grading results from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, with her Cello successes coming as a result of her outstanding commitment.

Bella is a regular performer during the various events put on by Rydal Penrhos during the academic year, which included a standout solo during the annual Christmas Concert that drew widespread plaudits from those in attendance.

She has also secured notable achievements in Sailing during her time at the school and has progressed well from an academic standpoint ahead of her GCSE examinations later this year.
