We caught up with members of Year 7 at Rydal Penrhos to find out what they’ve thought of their time in the senior school so far.
The penultimate edition of the series features Ceylin Buckley, who is a member of Osborn House at Rydal Penrhos and has been part of the school community since September.
How have you found your first year at Rydal Penrhos senior school?
I have had a wonderful time! I began the year feeling very nervous because I was coming from a different school and I was also in a separate class from my brother. But then I began to start making lots of friends and began to feel like I fitted in well.
What are the main differences between primary/prep and senior?
I get a lot more prep and the days are a lot more extended. I also have to walk to different classes and see a variety of teachers.
How much support did you receive from the staff?
I feel like they are very helpful and supportive.
Have older members of the school community (Sixth Form) been helpful?
They are very good listeners. They also talk about what happened to them when they were our age and give such good advice for our situation.
Favourite lessons?
I enjoy every lesson that I participate in. but I mostly enjoy English, Maths, Science, Art, PE, Geography and History.
Favourite memory?
I enjoy every moment at school especially when I am with my friends. I also love going to all the different theatres and being able to go back to school and discuss the experience with them.
How did you find online learning during the lockdown?
In my opinion, online learning was really easy and efficient and it gave me a lot less pressure to deal with.
