Rydal Penrhos Pre-School head Louise Roberts brings a special rundown of the week’s activities within the department in our latest Staff Blog:
This week the Pre-School children looked at how we can help to keep our environment clean and tidy.
The children examined jobs people do to help us keep our environment clean and sorted signs according to shape and also create their own signs. They also played numeracy games using a dice.
Staff and children discussed composting and the children will investigate hedges and woodland for wildlife in the environment.
They used bean bags during physical activities and were given cleaning equipment in the role play kitchen to encourage the children to keep areas clean and tidy.
During creative activities the children had the chance to decorate plastic plant pots with recycled safe packaging and make collages from scrap materials.
The children continued to have small group literacy and numeracy sessions, gym, music, and forest school throughout the week.
Also the children were able to choose their own activities from a wide range of resources.
