Rydal Penrhos: Exceptional A Level results for Y13

Rydal Penrhos School is delighted to announce an exceptional set of A Level results for the 2019/20 academic year.

There was a wealth of individual success stories from Rydal Penrhos, with Eddie Farrell attaining four A* grades in Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics. He will now go on to the University of Durham to study Engineering.

Outgoing Head Boy Ioan Peake-Jones was another who was awarded superb grades, with the pupil getting three A*’s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, in addition to an A in Chemistry to secure a place at the University of Durham to study Physics and Astronomy.

Abhishek Bathula is another heading to the University of Durham to study Engineering after achieving three A*s and an A, with Jamie Lavery (3 A*s, A) also awarded outstanding results to seal his place at the University of Manchester to study Aerospace Engineering.

Bijou Rajagopal’s two A*s, one A and an A* (EPQ) booked her place at the London School of Economics (LSE) to study Actuarial Science. Arend Franssens was awarded one A*, two A’s and a B, securing his place on the Chemistry with Biomedicine degree course at King’s College London.

Tallulah Batley will now progress to the University of Edinburgh to study Fine Art. And Keira Bonnington ended a long association with Rydal Penrhos with some impressive results that enabled her to attain her place at the University of Bristol to study Geology.

Luke Davies (A*, 2 A’s) is heading to the University of Leeds to read Law, and Barooj Maqsood achieved a place at King’s College London to read English Literature.

Other tremendous results came from Raha Aminnejad (3 A’s), Matt Fiorita (3 A’s), Nishita Koushik (2 A*’s, A), William Stewart (A*, 2 A’s), Tomos Cole-King (3 A’s), Ed Patrick (A*, A, B) and Cassie Parry (2 A’s, B).

John Waszek, Executive Principal of Rydal Penrhos, said: “These excellent results are a tribute to the hard work of talented young people, well taught by committed teachers and strongly supported by caring parents.

“At present, they represent approaching the best ever A Level results achieved by Rydal Penrhos pupils, we fully expect that following the appeals and re-evaluation which is imminent that these will become the best results ever achieved at the school.

“This reflects how an all-round education promotes outstanding academic results and exceptional ‘value-added’.”

Our Sixth Form will be returning on Thursday 3 September and there are still some places available for incoming pupils.
