A new scientific extra-curricular club has proven hugely popular with Rydal Penrhos Senior School pupils since its inception.
One of the best things about Rydal Penrhos is what transpires beyond the academic curriculum. The school makes the most out of its resources in school and our stunning location on the North Wales coast to enhance learning for all pupils, which is proven to develop key skills, confidence, communication and working as a vital member of the team.
Teaching staff at Rydal Penrhos are proud of the school’s academic ethos that forms the core component behind the outstanding provision provided. This is enhanced considerably by the extra-curricular activities, which provide pupils with the chance to delve deeper into their fields of interest once lessons conclude.
Another recent addition to the extra-curricular schedule this academic year is the Dissection Club, which is run by the school’s Biology staff and has proven hugely popular with senior pupils since its introduction.
Pupils choose to participate in thought-provoking activities that broaden their scientific horizons. It also enables those enjoying the club to improve the more technical aspects of experiments in pursuit of discovery, which will stand them in tremendous stead as they progress through year groups at Rydal Penrhos.
These are transferable skills that pupils can also take with them into higher education and the working world. Being inquisitive and confident in completing intricate tasks is invaluable, especially heading into GCSE modules and A Level practical examinations that have big implications on their overall grades.
We would like to thank our Biology staff for organising the Dissection Club and congratulate everyone on its early success during what was an extremely busy lent term.
