Drama pupils at Rydal Penrhos showcased their impressive acting skills during a series of special virtual performances.
English and Drama teacher Fiona Earle, together with Rydal Penrhos’ Director of Music Pete Williams, came up with the idea of a Performing Arts Showcase, which is down to the various end of year concerts and productions unable to take place in the current climate.
Those contributing to the Drama portion of the online event were tasked with coming up with some creative monologues and duologues from home, which have now been assembled into a four-part series.
It features some incredible submissions, which even saw involvement from some family members.
The showcase was officially premiered on Rydal Penrhos school’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, July 15.
Miss Earle, said: “This was a fantastic effort from our pupils, who demonstrated their passion for performing with some excellent submissions that are guaranteed to entertain those watching.
“It has been an uncertain time for everyone, and it has prevented us from putting on performances that the pupils love to do.
“This virtual showcase allowed them to express themselves and get creative from the comfort of their own homes.
“We are enormously proud of everyone that contributed and hopefully, they all learned some new skills along the way.”
Rydal Penrhos is now able to offer socially distanced tours to prospective pupils and their families. For more information email admissions@rydalpenrhos.com, prep@rydalpenrhos.com or book online at https://rydal.wpengine.com/open-days-visits.
