A Rydal Penrhos staff member received thanks for an act of kindness recently.
One of the main reasons why Rydal Penrhos staff are so great is their caring nature. The school’s teaching and support staff go above and beyond the call of duty for pupils and their families on a daily basis, something that has been especially evident during the various lockdown periods over the last 12 months due to COVID-19.
Another fine example of this recently came from Paul Marl, who is one of the dedicated school bus drivers responsible for taking Prep and Senior pupils to and from Rydal Penrhos every day.
It was just another day for Paul, who had just finished his final drop-off of the day and was on his way back to Colwyn Bay after another job well done.
However, he spotted a driver in extreme distress on the Caerwys slip road on the A55 which altered his normal route home considerably.
Some quick thinking from Paul saw him pull his bus behind the troubled vehicle to shield it from dangerous traffic, which is particularly evident in the area where the incident occurred.
Once the car was secure from a safety standpoint, Paul then helped the gentleman call for assistance with his vehicle and waited until a nearby garage attended the scene to take the driver and the car away from the slip road.
This was the last Paul thought of it. But a recent package for the staff member consisted of a gift and a card of thanks from the man in question for his selfless efforts to assist.
Rydal Penrhos’ staff team leads from the front. They are always on hand for support and guidance day-to-day at the school and are always looking for ways to help charitable causes or the wider community.
Paul deserves all the credit coming his way and we are delighted to have him as such a valuable member of the Rydal Penrhos community.
