Rydal Penrhos Daily Notes – June 26

Day 68 from Rydal Penrhos school during the coronavirus pandemic – 0 pupils, 44 staff

Today was strange…the last day of the first phase of lockdown. No keyworker pupils in school as we had a whole day of staff training and then the whole school site was ‘fogged’ ready for Monday’s re-opening.

The picture shows play equipment outside being fogged…we are being very thorough!

The school gates are festooned with letters saying ‘welcome back’ and we really mean it!

It is exactly 100 days since the school closed its doors and began teaching online. Although this style of learning has been a great success, we are all desperate for something, anything, to change and now it is!

Whether you are staying at home or returning to school the next three weeks will see changes in some way or other as we prepare for the end of this academic year and look forward to the next.

We will be finding out who be your child’s next teacher and what they will be studying, we will be holding a virtual parents’ evening and issuing reports…above all we will be trying to celebrate each child’s achievements in learning during this academic year.

Who knows what the next few months will bring but in the short term we are excited for next week and for seeing the vast majority of our pupils face to face once more.

Don’t forget those packed lunches!
