Prep Pupil Leadership: Rydal Penrhos Appoints Outstanding New Team
October 12, 2023

Rydal Penrhos is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Prep School pupil leadership team.

Throughout a pupil’s journey at Rydal Penrhos, assuming a role of pupil leadership stands as a moment of immense pride and prestige. This year, we are thrilled to introduce a remarkable cohort of young individuals who have willingly embraced pivotal positions within our Prep School community.

These emerging leaders are wholeheartedly dedicated to nurturing a positive and all-inclusive atmosphere, championing academic excellence, and actively supporting the well-being of their fellow pupils. We expect great things from them in their new roles and extend a warm invitation to our parents, carers, family members, and friends to acquaint themselves with these outstanding ambassadors for Rydal Penrhos.

Heads of School

Hannah and Svaksh have demonstrated exemplary qualities of leadership, showing dedication and responsibility throughout their time at Rydal Penrhos Prep School. Their roles as Head Girl and Head Boy will involve representing their fellow pupils, leading by example, and taking a primary role in key school events such as end-of-term services and Speech Day.

Deputy Heads of School

Layko and Theo, in their positions as Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy, will support Hannah and Svaksh in their leadership roles. The role of Deputy Head of School is crucially important within the pupil leadership team and features many of the same demands and responsibilities as the Heads of School.

House Captains

Our House Captains – Toby and Lilly (Brecon), Sebastian and Lily (Pembroke), and Sophia and Harry (Snowdon) – will lead the three Prep School houses with enthusiasm, motivating pupils to take part in house events, sports competitions, and charitable initiatives, fostering a strong house spirit within the school.

Prefects and Committees

Our Prefects – Muhammad, Adhira, Louisa, and Anna – will support the teachers and staff in maintaining the culture and ethos that makes our Prep School such a positive and productive environment.

Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors – Holly, Max, Fynley, and Rose, our Mental Health and Anti-Bullying Champion – will focus on supporting the mental well-being of our pupils and promoting an anti-bullying culture. They will continue the good work that saw Rydal Penrhos cited as a case study example of anti-bullying practice by The Diana Award.

Our Eco-Committee – Barlow, Naomi, Madlen, Kit, Emrys, Bobby, Poppy, Isla, Minty, Zach, and Cody – will work on various environmental projects, from day-to-day initiatives to support sustainability to major annual events such as the Big Garden Birdwatch or World Oceans Day.

Lastly, the School Council – Caitlin, Maximus, Lizzy, Charlotte, Dylan, Edith, Hannah, Wilfred, Demiana, and Josie – will provide a platform for pupils to voice their opinions and actively contribute to decision-making processes within the school.

Pupil leadership is a vital component of our school’s success. It empowers pupils to feel ownership and belonging within the school while developing essential life skills and becoming responsible citizens. We have no doubt that this year’s Pupil Leadership Team will excel in their roles and make a significant impact on the school community. Congratulations to all the appointees!
