Rydal Penrhos: Josefin’s journey from Sixth Form to MIT & Oxford
August 4, 2020

A former Rydal Penrhos pupil has been reflecting on the education received during her time as a Sixth Former, which has propelled her to great things.

Josefin Betsholtz was a valued member of the Rydal Penrhos community during her time as a Sixth Form pupil, and she benefitted considerably from the high-class education provided by the school and its dedicated teaching staff.

This resulted in Josefin securing some exceptional examination results, which brought plenty of offers from prestigious higher education establishments across the globe.

Josefin, said: “Rydal Penrhos Sixth Form can be life-changing, it was for me.”

She eventually decided to move on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to study a BSc in Environmental Engineering.

MIT was recently ranked No. 1 in the QS World University Rankings for 2021. And following successful graduation, Josefin opted to continue her studies at the world-renowned University of Oxford.

Josefin is currently embarking on an MPhil in Political Theory, which is a further reflection of a true success story that has emerged from the school in recent years.

This is just one example of what can be achieved from a Sixth Form education at Rydal Penrhos, with many pupils achieving places at top universities across the country and beyond.

Our Sixth Form provision will undergo some significant and positive changes from September, which will include a free iPad for every pupil, 24 academic lessons a week, supervised study sessions, university application lessons, extra-curricular options and leadership opportunities.

We still have a limited number of places remaining for 2020 entry, and anyone that wishes to book a socially distanced tour of the school should email admissions@rydalpenrhos.com, call 01492 530155, or book online at https://rydal.wpengine.com/admissions/open-days-visits/.
