Rydal Penrhos: Y7-9 Sports Day set to end year in style
July 15, 2020

Rydal Penrhos senior school pupils will be closing out the academic year in style with their annual Sports Day event.

The annual athletic showcase will have a completely different feel to it this year due to the current climate, but staff have worked incredibly hard to put together a fun-filled programme for those in Year 7-9 at Rydal Penrhos to participate in.

This year’s Sports Day will be held on Thursday, July 16 at the school’s impressive New Field site, and each competition or race will be held under strict social distancing rules.

Pupils will be put into bubbles for their respective events, and Physical Education teacher Nicky Head gave a teaser regarding what they can expect.

She said: “We are going old-school with some of the events at this year’s Rydal Penrhos Sports Day, but it promises to be a great deal of fun for those involved.

“We are extremely fortunate to be able to hold this event, especially in the current climate, and hopefully it will send our Year 7-9 pupils off on a high before their summer break.

“I would like to thank all staff who have worked tirelessly to make the venue safe and come up with some exciting activities.”

Although parents and family members will be unable to attend, there will be photographs available both during and following the event.

Rydal Penrhos is now able to offer socially distanced tours to prospective pupils and their families. For more information email admissions@rydalpenrhos.com, prep@rydalpenrhos.com or book online at https://rydal.wpengine.com/open-days-visits.
