Year 5 pupils at Rydal Penrhos expanded their scientific knowledge with a special visit to Xplore Wrexham recently.
Not only are activities thriving at Rydal Penrhos, but our pupils across all year groups benefit considerably from the school’s surroundings. Staff arrange many trips, excursions and team-building exercises across the North Wales region during the academic year, which enhances the outstanding work they do within a typical classroom environment.
These key factors have always formed a core part of the exceptional education provided by Rydal Penrhos, which constantly sees pupils young and old reach or even exceed their respective goals.
Year 5 pupils were the latest to boost the curriculum in unfamiliar surroundings under the expert support of Prep School staff, with the group making an exciting trip to the Xplore Science Discovery Centre in Wrexham to expand their scientific horizons in a superb venue.
It was a very worthwhile and informative trip for all involved. Pupils participated in hands-on games and activities covering a wide range of scientific concepts, which provoked debate among the group and built key skills such as problem-solving and teamwork throughout.
The Rydal Penrhos contingent also took part in two workshops led by the centre staff. We learnt how a rocket takes off and all about how astrophysicists plan to explore Mars in the very near future.
Once again, each pupil involved got a substantial amount out of the experience, acquired a wealth of new information and had plenty of fun in the process.
A huge thanks from everyone at Rydal Penrhos to the Xplore Science Discovery Centre team for making us feel so welcome and to our pupils for representing the school in an exemplary fashion.
