This year, Rydal Penrhos School is proud to begin its journey to achieving the Rights Respecting Schools Award, led by UNICEF UK.
As part of this programme, we are embedding the values of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into every aspect of school life, ensuring our pupils understand their rights and responsibilities while fostering a culture of mutual respect and inclusivity.
A Rights Respecting School puts children’s rights at the heart of its ethos.
By aligning with the UNCRC, schools create an environment where every child feels safe, valued, and heard.
The programme helps to enhance pupils’ self-esteem, improve behaviour, and develop a strong sense of global citizenship.
Schools can achieve Bronze, Silver, or Gold status as part of the Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA).
Our approach to becoming a Rights Respecting School includes:
Becoming a Rights Respecting School aligns with our vision of fostering a safe and happy environment where we feel pride in ourselves, in our school, and in our community.
