Rydal Penrhos’ Speech and Drama provision were celebrating after rounding off the latest examination results with some exceptional success.

The older members of the school community found out their fate at the start of the academic year, which saw the group secure some outstanding marks to go alongside the exceptional results of Prep and Lower School candidates.

The assessments were administered by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and Josh Peevor managed to achieve a distinction from his Grade 6 Acting Solo – Bronze Medal after a superb performance.

Bella Rutherford also secured a distinction at the same level of difficulty, with Beau Holden, Darcie Harker-Weston and Sophie Williams all achieving Merit grades.

Philippa Thomas’ effort in Grade 5 Acting Solo saw her come away with a distinction, and the duo of Damisola Animashaun and Ellen Jones emerged from their respective assessments at the same level with merits.

Another notable achievement came from Ruby James, who achieved a merit in her Grade 8 Acting Gold Medal to round off an excellent overall contribution to the programme during her time at the school.

Darcie Harker-Weston secured a pass at the same level to secure Gold, with Holly Battersby achieving a merit in her Grade 7 Acting Silver Medal thanks to her sterling performance.

Mrs Bloomfield, said: “This was such a pleasing set of results across all year groups, and certainly the best I have had since I started teaching here at Rydal Penrhos.

“Even the LAMDA examiners stated how impressed they were with the results, which saw distinctions and merits galore at high levels of difficulty.”
