Pupils at Rydal Penrhos School have once again achieved outstanding A-Level results, securing places at some of the UK’s leading universities.
The release of this year’s exam results marks a significant achievement for our school, as we celebrated a 100% pass rate for the fifth consecutive year.
An impressive 37% of Rydal Penrhos pupils attained A* or A grades, significantly higher than the Welsh national average of 30%. 89% of Rydal Penrhos pupils secured A* to C grades.
Among the outstanding individual performances was that of Year 13 pupil Hannah Gao, who joined the Rydal Penrhos Sixth Form two years ago. Hannah earned a flawless 3 A*s and will be pursuing Medicine at Cardiff University.
Head of School Ruby Merrick attained 2As and a B while 1st XV Rugby Captain Zac Roberts scored 3 As and a B. Both will begin their studies in September at their first-choice universities: Ruby in Psychology at the University of Bath, and Zac in Physics at the University of Edinburgh.
Faith Wardle achieved an excellent 2 As, a C, and a B in her Extended Project Qualification. Her mother, Mrs Wardle, said, “I can’t thank Rydal Penrhos enough. It has been the most wonderful opportunity. The support from an educational and pastoral point of view has been second to none.”
Gwyn Davies, whose musical talent has long been celebrated within the Rydal Penrhos community and beyond, will continue to pursue his passion after securing a place at the prestigious Welsh College of Music.
Year 12 pupils receiving their results also had cause for celebration, with 100% of those taking A-Levels early achieving the highest possible A* or A grades.
