At this year’s Chester Competitive Festival of Performing Arts, pupils from Rydal Penrhos once again demonstrated their exceptional abilities in Speech and Drama.
Rydal Penrhos has a strong tradition in Speech and Drama, with individual or small group lessons a longstanding peripatetic option further to our core curriculum.
Beyond just improving communication and acting abilities, Speech and Drama lessons serve as a catalyst for building confidence, fostering expression, nurturing creativity, and igniting imagination.
They also cultivate essential speaking and listening skills, which can encourage increased participation in class and better prospects in university and job interviews.
In addition to LAMDA assessments, a standout feature of taking part in Speech and Drama is the chance to perform at the Chester Competitive Festival of Performing Arts.
This combined festival of speech, language and music has existed for over 90-years and attracts over one thousand competitors each year.
Of the Rydal Penrhos pupils who participated in the festival, all won a trophy, medal, or certificate. This included several first place awards, alongside a host of second and third place results.
For a full list of winners, please see below.
Every Rydal Penrhos pupil who took part represented the school admirably, demonstrating a high standard of performance in front of professional adjudicators; some of whom are West End, Royal Shakespeare Company, and television directors.
Many congratulations go to our pupils, who have carefully honed their skills under the tutelage of Christina Bloomfield, who brings over 30 years’ experience to her practice.
With places available for the new academic year in September, there is no time like the present to register your child for Speech and Drama lessons. Please contact Christina Bloomfield at info@bloomfieldacademy.co.uk for more details.
