The entire Rydal Penrhos community once again gave a significant contribution to the school’s annual autumn food drive.
The collection for this year’s Harvest Festival was seeking cans of dried or tinned foods to donate to the two worthy causes, which have now been split between Action for Children and the Conwy Food Bank, who will distribute it to needy families throughout the region.
A host of items were donated by staff, pupils and their families to ensure that the yearly campaign was a tremendous success.
Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “Our Harvest Food Drive is something that always generates a considerable amount of support from everyone associated with Rydal Penrhos, and we were absolutely thrilled with this year’s collection, which was one of the biggest since we started the initiative.
“We are very proud to support a large number of regional and national causes throughout the academic year thanks to the incredible dedication of our pupils, staff and of course our incredible Friends of Rydal Penrhos parent group.”
The items were on display at St John’s Church during the annual Harvest Festival, which was the last event before the two-week half term break on Friday, October 18.
They will now be sent to the chosen initiatives for immediate use.
