Pre-School children at Rydal Penrhos took part in a series of exciting activities as part of their ongoing outdoor learning initiative.
Rydal Penrhos’ successful Coastal School programme with Pre-School department staff has been an exceptional addition to the learning provision since its inception, making the most of the school’s location on the stunning North Wales coast to full effect.
During the latest session, children worked hard to create some sensory shakers using natural materials found on the beach.
They also had to collect small enough items to fit into the shaker, before putting the final touches on their designs with water and glitter.
Our #PreSchool enjoyed a very productive #Coastal School session this week with our incredible staff team.
What better way to learn and boost your early development than on the picturesque #ColwynBay coastline! 🏖️☀️🌊 #RPInspires @nwalestweetsuk

The group also practiced their throwing skills buy using hoops as a target, before playing the popular game ‘corners’ under the supervision of staff.
As a reward for their outstanding enthusiasm throughout their Coastal School activities, the children were allocated some free time to make sandcastles with buckets and spades, in addition to playing with bean bags.
This session aided their early listening and understanding development, enabled each Pre-School child to find out more about the area’s natural materials and built relationships, teamwork and communication.
