iChapel takes on Happiness theme
March 19, 2020

Promoting happiness to Rydal Penrhos pupils and staff took centre stage during its latest interactive assembly.

Reverend Nick Sissons, the school’s chaplain, used his latest iChapel to take on the theme of ‘Being Happy’, with so much uncertainty surrounding the increasing risk of the coronavirus pandemic.

The iChapel began with an introduction from Rev’d Sissons and a singalong with Pre-School children. It then turned to prep and senior pupils and staff to speak about what makes them happy in their day-to-day lives.

Rev’d Sissons and teacher Mike Pender then discussed a recent Action for Happiness course they ran at Rydal Penrhos, before a scientific video offering two options of happiness; one involved money, a house and a car, with the other focusing on family, friends and precious memories.

Another memorable highlight of the iChapel was a version of the Electric Light Orchestra’s classic hit ‘Mr Blue Sky’, featuring cameos from various teaching staff and pupils, and Rev’d Sissons ended the digital event with a closing message.

This was a rallying cry to be kinder and more helpful to others during this unprecedented and worrying time for people of all ages.

Rev’d Sissons concluded with a closing prayer, and what could be the final iChapel of the academic year was extremely well received by those who viewed it.
