Excitement is building ahead of Rydal Penrhos’ inaugural Industry and Enterprise Day, which promises to be a can’t miss event for pupils, parents, and local young people in North Wales.
The event, taking place on Friday 28 April 2023 from 14:00 until 17:30 in Rydal Penrhos’ Ferguson Centre, will introduce attendees to many exciting career pathways and local leaders in those fields, and showcase the dynamic business landscape of our local region.
Rydal Penrhos is committed to preparing its pupils for life after school and is proud to host this event that will bring together a range of important corporate partners, national firms, and leading local businesses. The event is open to pupils from Years 9 to 12, parents, and local children and young people from the community, who will have the opportunity to meet and speak with our corporate partners.
Among those visiting us will be alumni Nick Fiorita (RPS 2006-19) and Alex Sharples (RPS 2009-16), who will offer an introduction to the worlds of policing and aviation, respectively.
Former Head Boy and Rydal Penrhos Society Vice President Nick Fiorita has gained hundreds of hours of police experience dedicating himself to the role of Special Police Constable as he studies for his Master of Management degree at the University of Warwick. Meanwhile, Alex Sharples has covered hundreds of thousands of miles in his four years as a First Officer with EasyJet. His stories of life in the cockpit will be fascinating to pupils, regardless of whether they have ever considered a career in the skies!
Those with an interest in property should be sure to speak to Iwan M Williams, owner and founder of Iwan M Williams Estate Agency. Pupils with an entrepreneurial streak will be keen to hear how, after 13 years of working in North Wales’ largest estate agency groups, Iwan used his knowledge of the local area and its housing market to set up his own business.
The Industry and Enterprise Day aims to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the dynamic North Wales business landscape, and to inspire and empower pupils to pursue their passions and achieve their goals.
This event is part of Rydal Penrhos’ broader mission to provide its pupils with the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to thrive in the modern world. The school offers a comprehensive programme of university and careers advice, led by long-time member of staff and Rydal Penrhos Society President Mr Farnell.
Rydal Penrhos welcomes any local young people from outside Rydal Penrhos who might like to attend this exciting event. It will be a great opportunity for North Wales’ young people to meet some new faces and discover the people behind some of the household names from the local economy. Rydal Penrhos looks forward to welcoming all attendees on Friday 28 April for what promises to be a memorable and enriching experience. We would like to thank our corporate partners for volunteering their time to support our children and young people.
