Rydal Penrhos’ Year 6 group got the opportunity to sample senior school life during an activity-themed event.
The enthusiastic Prep School contingent participated in an integration afternoon on Wednesday, November 27, which is one of a series of visits to Rydal Penrhos during the academic year to assist each pupil with the transition to a new environment.
They were split into two groups, with one taking part in a special Design and Technology session with Deputy Head Phil Sutton and Technician James Bonser.
The second Y6 #PrepSchool group took part in a #cake-making session with Ms Gardener during their Senior School afternoon this week, which produced some very tasty treats to enjoy for all involved! 🧁

The group honed their woodwork skills to create a personalised toy, which saw each pupil use the tools and machinery available under supervision within the impressive facility.
Another group headed to the Food Studies department for a cake-making afternoon with Laura Gardener, which produced plenty of tasty treats after all demonstrated their cooking skills throughout.
Prep School Head Lucy Davies, said: “This was an invaluable experience for our Year 6 pupils as they prepare for the next stage of their education within a senior school environment.
Our Y6 participated in an activity afternoon at the Senior School yesterday, which saw one group learn new #skills in the #DesignTechnology department with Mr Sutton and Mr Bonser. #RPInspires

“They all had a wonderful time and got the chance to learn new skills, work well both individually and within a group and get a feel for the senior school and the vast opportunities it provides.
“It can be a daunting time for a child moving to new surroundings, and we strive to ensure that their transition is as smooth as possible thanks to organised events like this here at Rydal Penrhos.”
