Two lucky year groups at Rydal Penrhos got a musical treat thanks to a special appearance.
The Year 8 and 9 contingents got the opportunity to hear a special set from Soulbox, who brought their fantastic blend of soul, rap and beatbox for a very enjoyable session.
Soulbox are part of the Higher Tour, which is visiting schools across North Wales organised by the Message Trust, a Christian charity that works with young people.
During the mini-concert, the pupils listened to the group sing and talk about resilience and wellbeing, and how their faith has helped transform their lives after making bad decisions.
The session was great fun with lots of interactivity and served as a platform to advertise the concert they are involved in this Friday night at Venue Cymru in Llandudno.
This will showcase performances not only by Soulbox but by two other Christian bands who are involved in the tour and the hope is that pupils from across schools in Wales will join together to enjoy their music and learn more about who they are and why they believe what they do.
Senior School head Sally Ann Harding, said: “This was a wonderful experience for our Year 8 and 9 pupils, who thoroughly enjoyed the visit of Soulbox.
“It gave them plenty to think about in terms of the importance of decision-making and overcoming adversity, which are huge parts of their day-to-day lives both here at Rydal Penrhos and outside of school hours.”
