A host of activities have been organised later this week as Rydal Penrhos lends its support to a nationwide fundraising initiative.
The school’s Sixth Form Charity Committee have devised an action-packed schedule in support of their annual BBC Children in Need Day, which will be held on Friday, November 15.
All year groups can dress up to mark the occasion along the theme of “what you want to be when you grow up”, and there will be tasty treats on offer at a charity cake sale during morning break on the day.
Male teaching staff will go through the pain barrier for the good cause, and they will be having their legs waxed during lunchtime in what should be a highly entertaining affair for those in attendance.
In addition to the leg waxing, staff will also have their make-up done by a select number of pupils who donate.
Polka dots and Pudsey the Bear costumes will also be acceptable attire for the occasion.
Senior School Head Sally-Ann Harding, said: “Our Sixth Form Charity Committee have done a marvellous job of arranging plenty of activities in aid of Children in Need, which is something we have supported significantly over many years.
“It is an extremely worthy cause and hopefully our fantastic Senior School community will ensure that this year’s event with bring with it similar success.”
