Mrs Davies’ Prep School blog: November 20
November 20, 2019

Thank you so much for all of your support via ears and 50 pence pieces for our Children in Need Day.

All of our pupils visited the school council led ‘fun fifties’ games and had great fun. The Pudsey prizes were given out at the end of the day and every child received a sticker to say thank you.

The school council members designed and made their own games and I am so proud of them; lots of extra hours at lunch and break times really paid off and their leadership skills developed hugely as the morning went on. It was super to see five-year-olds teaching two-year-olds and eleven-year-olds!

We raised just over £365, that’s a lot of fifty pence coins! Thank you!

We sent a team, in the bitter wind and rain, to compete in the NW schools cross country competition. Brilliant efforts from everyone resulted in several top ten places in fields of over 100 runners.

We even had Year 4 pupils competing in this U11 event – go Rydal Penrhos! In total contrast, our Act of Remembrance was a quiet and still occasion out by the flagpole with poppy petal prayers and prefects leading the readings.

Thank you to the parents who supported this event, it was very moving to see even our youngest pupils standing and thinking so silently.

It’s been another very busy week and plans are gathering pace for our busy Christmas period of events and activities, culminating in the eagerly anticipated Fancy Dress Party at the end of term.
