With only five weeks to go until the summer holidays, Rydal Penrhos School previews highlight events coming up in the school calendar.
As we move into the second half of Trinity Term, there is a distinct sense of momentum at Rydal Penrhos. The final weeks of the academic year are always busy – full of energy, celebration and thoughtful reflection – and this summer promises no exception.
On Friday 13 June, we welcome prospective pupils and families for our final Open Morning of the academic year. The morning will include a welcome from our Principal, followed by a tour of the campus, which will allow you the opportunity to see The Rydal Penrhos Promise in action across all our outstanding classrooms and facilities.
On Tuesday 17 June, our Year 12 pupils will attend the UCAS Discovery Day in Liverpool, where they will have the chance to explore a wide range of university and career opportunities. It is a valuable part of the outstanding guidance and support they receive throughout Sixth Form, from explaining the UCAS process, to identifying employment and apprenticeship avenues.
The following day, Wednesday 18 June, we will host one of our most cherished sporting traditions — the 1st XI Cricket fixture against the MCC, now in its 101st year. The match brings together pupils, guest players, and the wider school community for a wonderful day of cricket. Families are warmly invited to join us — details can be found in the parent email.
On Monday 24 June, Moving Up Morning gives pupils across the school the chance to step into the shoes of next year’s timetable, helping them feel ready and excited for what is ahead.
Later that week, on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 June, our talented Prep pupils will take to the stage in the Memorial Hall for ‘Treasure Island Forever’ — this year’s end-of-year production. It promises to be a joyful showcase of acting, music and teamwork.
The celebrations continue on Saturday 28 June with the Leavers’ Ball, a fitting send-off for the Class of 2025 and a chance to reflect on all they have achieved.
And finally, on Friday 4 July, we will mark the end of term with our Pre-School Celebration and Prep Speech Day, applauding a year of growth and success — and looking forward to exciting transitions ahead for our Pre-School and Year 6 pupils.
We look forward to sharing these moments with you as we close a successful academic year in style.
