A Pre-Prep year group continued their work on one of the most prominent eras in human history during their latest outdoor education session.

The Year 2 contingent at Rydal Penrhos took part in their first Forest School session of the academic year on Wednesday, September 18, which makes use of the school’s unique woodland setting to promote an innovative approach to outdoor learning.

Their session centred once again on the Celtic era and added to the impressive they have already done surrounding the topic.

This also included a hugely beneficial educational trip to the Cletic Experience in Wrexham, where they get a first-hand look at what it was like during that specific time period thanks to a series of fun-filled and challenging tasks.

During the session, each pupil took part in a number of different activities that the Celts themselves would have been tasked with, which further heightened their overall knowledge relating to the subject.

Assistant Head Catherine Hughes, said: “Our Year 2 have shown a great deal of enthusiasm towards project on the Celts, which is something we see throughout their academic and extra-curricular studies on a daily basis here at Rydal Penrhos.

“Our Forest School is a substantial learning tool for every pupil from Pre-School right up to Year 6 and has proven to be vastly beneficial to their overall development.”
