Thousands raised from Charity Ball
October 23, 2019

Thousands of pounds were raised from a special event held at Rydal Penrhos in memory of two former pupils.

The school held a Charity Ball earlier this month in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust and Ataxia UK, which saw a large congregation of the Rydal Penrhos community descend on the Sixth Form Ferguson Centre in support of the occasion.

It was arranged to honour the lives of Thomas Watson and Scarlett Sailsbury, two much-loved Alumni members who are sadly no longer with us.

There were a host of things to enjoy throughout the event, including a lavish three-course meal from catering providers Holroyd Howe and entertainment from a band and director of music Pete Williams.

A special raffle and auction also took place with a wealth of exciting items available to win or bid on, and more than £4,000 was raised that will be distributed between the two charities.

Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “Our Charity Ball was a fantastic event and you could see just how much Thomas and Scarlett meant to everyone here at Rydal Penrhos.

“They were incredible people to know and it was our absolute honour and privilege to hold an event in their name, and I would like to thank everyone who donated and attended what was a really special occasion.”
