An aspiring Preparatory School footballer has enjoyed a fantastic summer of achievements with a regional side.
Will Glanville, a Year 6 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, has been making his presence felt with the Conwy Borough U11 squad during a busy few months that has brought with it a wealth of tournament successes across the region.
The tricky winger played a leading role in the Jackdaws’ triumphs at a host of high-profile competitions, and they concluded a busy summer for the squad with a notable victory at the Football Association of Wales Festival in Wrexham last month.
This exceptional recent run of form, which saw the young Tangerines’ beat out 18 other sides to secure the crown, caught the eye of a scout from Barclays Premier League side Everton, who has promised the team a trip to their state-of-the-art base at Finch Farm to see what they have to offer.
Head of Boys’ Games Jamie McLeod, said: “Will is such an enthusiastic individual who is thriving both within the classroom and throughout his extra-curricular activities, and it is not surprise to see his quality coming to the fore once again with Conwy Borough.
“To get an invitation for a day at Everton and play in front of scouts at the site is fantastic news both for Will and the squad, and hopefully they can give a good account of themselves to impress those watching.”
