This special series features a more in-depth look at the wealth of enrichment opportunities available at Rydal Penrhos Senior School throughout the spring term.
Monday: Yoga – All Years (7-13)
Workout fads come and go, but virtually no other exercise program is as enduring as yoga. It’s been around for more than 5,000 years.
Yoga does more than burn calories and tone muscles. It’s a total mind-body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation or relaxation.
Rydal Penrhos has introduced yoga sessions for all year groups, who will work with an experienced staff member during an activity that has been proven to promote a positive mindset and enhance wellbeing.
During the sessions, each member of the group will explore the different methods of yoga on a weekly basis, giving them the skills necessary to practice the discipline in their own time at their own pace.
This will include the four most common elements of yoga; karma, bhakti, jnana, and raja, in addition to other less known styles that have also proven to be beneficial.
This has proved to be an immensely popular addition to the school’s enrichment provision since its implementation, with those involved getting a tremendous amount out of the experience during its initial stages.
