Quartet complete Safe Cycling Awareness course
October 31, 2019

A group of Preparatory School pupils successfully completed a road safety awareness course recently.

Tilly Trueman, Will Glanville, Rafe Tunstall and Nathan Richards, Year 6 pupils at Rydal Penrhos, recently took part in their Level 1 and 2 Safe Cycling Awareness course, which is a scheme implemented by the Road Safety Unit.

The quartet spent considerable time with course instructors to learn more about all elements of safe cycling practice both on and off road, before putting their knowledge to good use in a series of different tests and practical assessments.

Each pupil passed both levels of the course with flying colours and received a certificate acknowledging their achievement at a Celebration Assembly prior to the half-term break.

This is the latest in a series of extra-curricular opportunities available to each year group at Rydal Penrhos Prep School, which have been implemented with a view to enhancing learning and boosting experiences outside of a classroom environment.

Prep School Head Lucy Davies, said: “We are thrilled that Tilly, Will, Rafe and Nathan managed to successfully complete their respective safe cycling courses, which will stand them in good stead both in their immediate future and in later life.

“Gaining valuable skills like this is something we encourage at Rydal Penrhos on a daily basis and it is fantastic to see our young pupils grasping every opportunity that comes their way.”
