Pupils and parents from Rydal Penrhos and beyond enjoyed an interesting and engaging Sixth Form Information Evening on Thursday.
At 17:00 on 9th November, the Ferguson Centre – Rydal Penrhos’ state of the art Sixth Form centre, first opened in 2005 and later upgraded in 2018 – opened its doors for a highly successful Sixth Form Information Evening.
Throughout the evening, teachers from various subjects – from Humanities to Mathematics, Art to English – engaged with Year 11 pupils and their families. Current Prefects were on hand to speak to pupils and answer their questions, offering valuable perspectives on the lived experience of studying their courses.
Following a welcome address by the Principal, Mr Hutchinson, the Pastoral Lead for Years 11 to 13, Ms Sarah Bollan, offered a comprehensive presentation to all those in attendance. Ms Bollan’s talk provided pupils and parents with some key insights into what sets the Rydal Penrhos Sixth Form apart, from first-class teaching to outstanding pastoral care.
One of the most valuable elements of the evening were the one-to-one meetings. These opportunities for pupils and their families to meet with Senior teachers allowed important conversations to take place regarding pupils’ chosen subjects, their alignment with future aspirations, and ways to enhance learning through supercurricular activities.
The entire evening was defined by a fantastic atmosphere among the pupils, parents, family members, teachers and staff involved. The resounding success of the Sixth Form Information Evening provided another reminder of the factors that contribute to the immense success of our Year 12 and 13 pupils each year, from their A-Level results to their broader personal flourishing.
For those who were unable to attend, there are still opportunities to explore the Rydal Penrhos Sixth Form, with private tours available through our Admissions team. For more details, please contact email@example.com or call 01492 530 155.
