Meet the Pupil Leadership Team: Charlotte, Rydal Penrhos Head of School
April 27, 2026

As we introduce the new Senior Pupil Leadership Team, Rydal Penrhos is delighted to shine a spotlight on Charlotte, one of our Heads of School for 2026-27.

Charlotte has grown up within the Rydal Penrhos school community. Having been a pupil here since the age of four, Charlotte brings to the role a deep understanding of the school, its values and the importance of the ties of community that connect pupils across different year groups.

Her appointment is a fitting recognition of a young person who combines confidence with kindness, ambition with humility, and leadership with a sincere desire to support others. In her application, Charlotte spoke warmly of the role Rydal Penrhos played in shaping who she is today, and her new position gives her the opportunity to give back to her younger peers.

Charlotte has made a particularly strong contribution through sport. As a member of the school’s hockey and netball first teams, she has represented Rydal Penrhos with distinction, including repeated involvement in the Hoci Cymru National Schools Finals. Across her time at Rydal Penrhos, Charlotte’s achievements include winning the U11 Plate, placing second in the U16 tournament, and winning the Urdd Plate in netball while in Year 6. She has also represented the school in skiing, outdoor education and horse riding, developing a broad sporting profile shaped by commitment, hard work and perseverance.

Her leadership experience extends beyond school. Charlotte has captained Clwb Hoci Eirias U14 and U16 teams and vice-captained the North Wales U13 Girls Hockey squad at the UK Lions tournament. These experiences have helped her develop communication, composure and the ability to lead by example under pressure.

Within Rydal Penrhos, Charlotte has served as Prep School House Captain and now supports younger pupils through peer mentoring, helping with sports clubs alongside Mrs Pyves, and contributing to school events such as the KS1 Valentine’s Disco and Comic Relief. Charlotte’s commitment to service is also evident beyond school. She is involved in community-based work, helping to provide free activities for children during holidays and after school.

Having completed her Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, Charlotte is currently working towards Gold, further demonstrating her independence, teamwork and determination.

As Head of School, Charlotte hopes to be someone pupils feel comfortable approaching for advice, peer support or simply a conversation about school life. She is keen to help strengthen the school’s sense of community, support charitable initiatives and ensure that pupil voice continues to play an important role at Rydal Penrhos.

We warmly congratulate Charlotte on this very well-deserved appointment. Her long association with Rydal Penrhos, her breadth of contribution and her thoughtful approach to leadership will make her an excellent Head of School in the year ahead.
