Following the sudden closure of Llandudno Nursery and Preschool, we know that a number of local families are now facing the difficult and unexpected task of finding alternative childcare at very short notice.

Our thoughts are with all of the children, families and staff affected. The closure of any childcare setting is sad and unsettling, particularly for young children who have built relationships, routines and a sense of familiarity there.

For families now looking for alternative childcare, Rydal Penrhos has limited Nursery and Pre-School places available from September, providing care and Early Years education from six months old.

NURSERY AND PRE-SCHOOL PLACES AVAILABLE

Our new Rydal Penrhos Nursery opens on Thursday 3 September 2026, welcoming babies and toddlers aged from six months to two years.

It sits at the heart of the Rydal Penrhos campus, directly alongside our established Pre-School for children aged two until they start school, giving families a natural progression through the Early Years.

Rydal Penrhos is registered for 30 hours childcare (i.e. Early Education Funding and The Childcare Offer for Wales), Flying Start and Tax Free Childcare Vouchers. Full information about our fees can be found here.

Families joining Rydal Penrhos can benefit from:

• A highly individual approach, with children’s routines, preferences, feeding and sleep patterns considered as part of their introduction to Nursery.

AWARD-RECOGNISED EARLY YEARS PROVISION

Rydal Penrhos Nursery connects directly with our established Pre-School, which earlier this year was named among the top three in Wales in the NDNA Nursery of the Year Awards.

Children can therefore move naturally from Nursery into an established, award-recognised Pre-School environment, before progressing into Reception and, for families who choose to do so, continuing their education within the same Rydal Penrhos community through to Sixth Form.
