Cameron finishes Triathlon season with double triumph

A talented Triathlete rounded off an exceptional campaign with a pair of notable wins from high-profile competitions.

Cameron Shaw, a Year 11 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, enhanced his reputation as one of the brightest young prospects anywhere in the country with a consistent series of performances throughout the region.

This including a hugely impressive victory at the Aberystwyth Junior Triathlon last month, and Cameron followed this up by crossing the line first at the Chester Junior Triathlon on September 15 to bring a superb season to a close.

In order to boost his overall experiences in a competitive environment, the teenager has also been competing at Cross-Country events and secured a pair of podium finishes at national level which included third place in the U16 category at the Welsh Mountain Running Championships.

He also managed to secure a silver medal from the U17 category at the North Wales Mountain Running Championships, which represents another significant achievement for the ever-improving athlete.

Head of Physical Education Nicky Head, said: “Cameron has developed his ability to perform consistently within a competitive environment extremely well over the last few months, and this is reflected with the superb results he has achieved at various events across the region and beyond.

“Hopefully this is a trend that can continue long into the future as Cameron has a great deal of potential to very far within the sport.”
