Harri Jackson, a Year 12 pupil, was part of the North Wales Dragons side that took on Trescal earlier this month, which was held to raise funds and awareness for the Martin Gallier Project.
The contest was played at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium, home of JD Cymru Premier side Airbus UK, and Harri secured another notable milestone with the squad by becoming their youngest ever goal scorer thanks to a stunning individual effort that saw him beat several players before finishing superbly past the home custodian.
Although the Dragons’ eventually lost the contest 6-4, a considerable amount was raised for the, which aims to provide the families of vulnerable individuals with a much-needed skill set that will save lives.
The project also supports the husbands/wives/children/parents of the individual when an attempt is identified or concerns of suicidal ideations are raised.
This was the final fixture of the Dragons’ tenth-anniversary campaign that has seen the community initiative raise thousands for regional causes since their inception.
Harri has played a significant part in their efforts throughout the season, becoming their youngest ever player at 16 and has performed well in the face of older and more experienced opposition.
