A leading cathedral choir will be the special guests at Rydal Penrhos next month for an upcoming event.
The school will welcome the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Girls’ Choir on Friday, October 4, where they will perform at a special event from 7-8.15pm.
They will be joined on stage by the Rydal Penrhos Choir for their first formal event of the academic year, and the concert will follow the school’s Prep and Senior Open Afternoon.
Those in attendance will be treated to a wealth of different songs from both choirs throughout the event, and soprano Bethany Hartless is also scheduled to lend her exceptional vocal talent to the showcase.
The Cathedral Choir plays a significant role within the working life of the facility and is active within the Archdiocese and the City of Liverpool, singing at many civic, ecumenical and academic services.
Broadcasting regularly, the Choir has sung many times for both BBC television and radio and independent broadcasters and has also made a number of recordings.
Singing away from home since the 1970s, tours have included Belgium, Spain, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Germany, the USA and Canada as well as many cities within the British Isles.
The Choir sings an exciting and challenging wide repertoire, encompassing the full range of Roman Catholic music from Gregorian chant to the present day, as well as music written for the English Church, and music of other Christian traditions.
Tickets are priced at £5, which school children granted free admission.
Anyone wishing to purchase their tickets can do so by emailing Sarah James via email at SJames@rydalpenrhos.com or by telephone on 01492 530155.
