Luiza braves chop for national children’s cancer charity
February 5, 2020

A selfless Sixth Form pupil at Rydal Penrhos braved the chop to support a national cancer charity.

Luiza Gratton, a Year 12 pupil at the school, had 9.5 inches of her hair cut last weekend for the Little Princess Trust, which will be used to make wigs for young girls across the country who are fighting cancer.

This is a cause that is very close to the Sixth Form pupil’s heart, with Luiza actively volunteering for the girl guiding community in Llanddulas for a number of years.

She assists at the Rainbows and Brownies meeting within the community as she works towards her Young Leaders’ Award.

Luiza, who is a year younger than her peers after joining Rydal Penrhos Senior School aged ten, is also a very strong academic, a talented artist and has made the transition to the Sixth Form community exceptionally well since the start of the academic year.

Senior School head Sally Ann Harding, said: “This is a marvellous gesture from Luiza and one that is in keeping with her overall character.

“She is always doing her upmost to help others and do whatever she can to help those in need, and this obviously means a lot to her given the fantastic volunteer work she is currently doing with the Llanddulas Rainbows and Brownies group.”
