Mrs Davies’ weekly blog: January 13

Happy New Year and a new decade at Rydal Penrhos Preparatory School. It’s going to be a great year!

The children have been full of stories and bouncing with energy and it’s almost as though we never had a holiday!

However, the pupils have all settled to their lessons and exciting new topics and are already making progress with their learning.

Our clubs program is bigger than ever, we are slowly adding more clubs where demand is higher and we are also starting to keep waiting lists.

We also have our wraparound care facility until 6pm which has recently been revamped to include outside play, a quiet time for reading and homework and a games time (we have plenty of games and creative activities such as lego) as well as the popular hot tea and a film to finish the day if they wish.

Our sports fixtures started with hockey at home against Alderley Edge school this weekend, and judging by the high standard of play at your practice I think it is going to be a fantastic season for a very impressive group!

This week we have teams going to a netball tournament and a large cross-country competition.

Our first young two year olds also joined us within Pre-School to start the term.

They have their own area and newly purchased equipment and designated staff to care for them.

The older children in Pre-School are enjoying being ‘much older’ and helping the ‘little ones’ at group play times –it’s amazing what a four year old can do!
