Mrs Davies’ weekly blog: January 21
January 21, 2020

Some fabulous sport on show from our pupils last week. Our hockey players travelled on Saturday to Alderley Edge and produced some winning results against stiff opposition.

The U10 hockey team played in a tournament earlier this week and showed a growing sense of confidence against much more experienced teams; you didn’t win girls but you really improved so much, well done!

Our cross-country team travelled up to Giggleswick on Wednesday and all ran brilliantly in very soggy conditions. Well done to everyone and a full report will be on our website this week.

Last week the classes had a safety talk about the pool and preparation for the first lesson, and it was amazing that finally our pupils could enter the water!

They were all so excited and did brilliantly well, every single member of our Reception class gave me a big thumbs up when I asked if they had enjoyed it.

Finally, to round off this very sporty week, Mr Waszek, our Executive Principal, presented the rugby and netball captain badges at Celebration Assembly.

The Years 4, 5, 6 parent dinner was held in the Ferguson Centre and a very pleasant evening was had by the 50 attendees.

There were members of staff and governors on each table and it was fabulous to talk in a more informal situation. We were able to watch a short school video, cleverly put together by Mr Ed Brookes (a school parent) and also hear the wonderful singing of a Year 13 pupil. Both were very inspiring.

This month’s Parent Form rep meeting was held in the library. This was very constructive and was attended by myself as well as Mr Waszek and reps from Reception and Years 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
