Perry makes Live Regional Final of prestigious singing and dancing competition
September 16, 2019

A talented vocalist will take the stage in pursuit of success in a high-profile singing competition.

Perry Williams, a Year 8 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, recently auditioned in the U13 category at the Teen Star Singing and Dancing competition, which was held in Manchester last week.

The academic and music scholar demonstrated nerves of steel in front of a live audience and a group of judges, giving a polished display of the song Mr Cellophane that showcased his incredible talent to the full.

This was reflected with a strong ruling from the judges in attendance, who chose Perry as one of a select few to make it through to the Live Regional Final Showcase, which will also take place in Manchester next month.

The show will comprise of various acts, and both the audience and judges will decide who progresses to the Area Final.

The top scorers from the judging panel will automatically progress, alongside the acts with the highest audience votes, provided they are in the top half of the judges’ scores.

Each audience member votes for two acts on their ticket after all the acts have performed.

This is the latest in a series of outstanding achievements from Perry, who has honed his skills considerably during his time at Rydal Penrhos and during his time with the Pauline Quirk Performing Arts Academy in Llandudno.

He has enjoyed a very busy year to date, with Perry taking the role of Gavroche during the Dramatic Society production of Les Miserables, in addition to experiencing life on the West End Stage as part of the PQA performance of Trouble’s A Brewin.
