Rydal Penrhos School is delighted to be offering five FREE Day Places for Senior School September 2020 entry.
We are strong believers in the transformative nature of education and the importance of social mobility. Rydal Penrhos has been committed to improving independent education access for children across the region in recent years, and this is an initiative that has been highly beneficial for all parties.
These FREE Day Places provide an excellent opportunity for a child, with smaller class sizes coming with an increased teacher focus to maximise their potential academically.
Another notable benefit is the wide range of extra-curricular options available at Rydal Penrhos, which broaden experiences and help our pupils stretch themselves away from the classroom.
The FREE Day Places also enable us to expand our “school family” and to better reflect and represent the local community.
There are five FREE Day Places, for prospective pupils (September 2020 entry):
- 2 Year 9 places
- 1 Year 10 place
- 2 Year 12/Sixth Form places
APPLY NOW: email@example.com
Year 9 and 10 places will be awarded based on school reports, CAT tests and interview.
The Year 12/Sixth Form places will be awarded on the basis of achieved GCSE grades, school reports and an interview with a senior staff member.
A CAT test is a “cognitive abilities test” intended to assess pupils’ overall intelligence, developed abilities and academic potential.
This is a means-tested award, intended as an “opportunity” for a bright child residing in North Wales who is currently being educated within the state school system.
Families with a combined income of less than £35,000 per annum are welcome to apply. This extends to other significant assets, which could be monetised.
Once a candidate is awarded a FREE Day Place, they will have it until they leave at the end of Sixth Form.
